Estágio de Dança returns to Aveiro

Estágio de Dança [Dance Internship] returns to Aveiro between the 28th of June and the 2nd of July. Organized by Teatro Aveirense, the event has once again Victor Hugo Pontes in the curatorship and proposes a set of training courses for groups from 10 years of age, both in classical and contemporary dance.

The initiative reaches its 26th edition this year and is distributed in several locations in Aveiro, in a celebration of dance that gathers professionals and amateurs. Registration is open until June 26, and can be done at the Teatro Aveirense box office or through the link https://bit.ly/EDA_inscriçao. Additional information can be obtained through the email agenio@cm-aveiro.pt. There is a 20% discount for those who sign up until June 10, as well as members of Aveiro dance schools and residents and/or natives of Aveiro.

For this 2022 edition, the event renews the partnerships with Companhia Nacional de Bailado and the Gaga Movement, maintaining its diverse character, both in terms of its training offer and the audience it is aimed at. Over the course of a week, there will be technical classes in classical and contemporary dance. The participants can also complement their practice with a creative laboratory, where they will have the opportunity to work directly with a choreographer, accessing compositional methodologies and creative processes, thus approaching a total artistic experience. The final result of these laboratories will have a public presentation on stage.

Among the trainers are renowned names in their fields, including Beatriz Valentim (Contemporary Dance and Creative Studio), Carla Pereira (Classical Dance), Cristina Planas Leitão (Flying Low by David Zambrano), Hugo Marmelada (Creative Laboratory and Gaga /People + Jam), João Cardoso (Contemporary Dance), Gustavo Monteiro (Contemporary Dance) and Susana Matos (Classical Dance), in addition to Victor Hugo Pontes (Choreographic Laboratory).

The Dance Internship 2022 also has a parallel program, which includes a conversation with the trainers present in this edition, the screening of the documentary "Irmãos", about a work of Victor Hugo Pontes based on a text by Gonçalo M Tavares, a session of Conversas do Aveirense entitled "Dance First Think Later” and the presentation of the works resulting from the Open Call launched by Estágio de Dança in April, from which two projects were selected, both awarded with a support of 1000 euros and an artistic consultancy program for their development.
