Migrations as seen by Elmano Sancho at Teatro Aveirense

On 31 October, Teatro Aveirense will host Elmano Sancho's play ‘O Meu Super-Herói’ (My Superhero). In this play, the director and author recreates the journey his father made decades ago to work in France.
‘O Meu Super-Herói’ tells the story of a Portuguese man who emigrated in the 1970s and whose son now feels uprooted, intertwined with the story of a Palestinian writer who has lived in Portugal for 20 years and dreams of returning to Palestine to find her roots.
To bring this project to fruition, Elmano Sancho invited the poet Shahd Wadi, whose family was expelled from a village in Palestine in 1948. ‘Meu Super-Herói’ is therefore a show in Portuguese, French and Arabic, with photography and video accompanying the narrative.
