Orquestra das Beiras is joining forces with LPstudio - Estúdio de Dança for the first time in an original creation aimed at young people, which combines contemporary dance with live classical music. ‘Penso, Logo Danço’ (I Think, Therefore I Dance) is set to premiere on 15 November at Teatro Aveirense.
The work presents dance as an extension of thought, showing how art helps us to observe, question and understand the world. With music selected by conductor Jan Wierzba and choreography by Lara Pereira, co-creators of the show, ‘Penso, logo Danço!’ was created specifically with young people in mind. It is an experience that brings children and young people closer to music and dance as languages of expression, critical thinking and cultural sensitivity.
At a time when access to culture is crucial for the comprehensive education of students, this show offers a unique opportunity to see and hear a live orchestra in dialogue with dancers. It is an artistic context designed to awaken curiosity, attention, imagination and the ability to interpret what surrounds us.
Four exclusive sessions for school audiences are scheduled for 13 and 14 November
