New circus show premieres at Teatro Aveirense

Cie. Nicanor de Elia will be in Aveiro with the Portuguese debut of Juventud, Manifeste Jonglé. The presentation will take place on February 17th at 9:30 pm at Teatro Aveirense, as part of Aveiro 2024 – Portuguese Capital of Culture.
In this show, five performers use juggling as a poetic instrument and revolutionary gesture. Juventud, Manifeste Jonglé is a manipulated manifesto that seeks its energy and desire for speed in the youth’s strength. Here, beauty arises from the complexity of a group in anarchic and constantly accelerated movement. Celebrating speed and change, it relies on circus physicality in a game of multiple cohabitations, frictions and contrasts: an ode to freedom.
