Victor Córdon Studio presents dance show at Aveirense Theatre

On 25 July, at 9.30pm, the Aveirense Theatre will host the dance show Território VIII, by Estúdios Victor Córdon. The show includes works by Marco Goecke and Nadav Zelner, key names in the contemporary scene, as well as a short film by Alexia Fernandes.
Território is a programme dedicated to young male and female dancers aged between 14 and 18 from dance schools all over the country. Over the course of several seasons, the programme has welcomed more than 90 young people from around 40 dance schools. Every year, the programme welcomes internationally renowned choreographers and this year offers a remake of Smokey Sarah (2014), by choreographer Marco Goecke, and a new creation by choreographer Nadav Zelner, entitled 12 Pigeons.
Marco Goecke, a choreographer present in the most important dance companies, is the bearer of a language that deconstructs a certain idea of established vocabulary, determining highly trained bodies in his practice. This paves the way for a lexicon that is surprisingly unexpected, precise and devoid of decorative elements.
With Nadav Zelner, a fast-rising choreographer, the performers will have the opportunity to experience an intense search process, crossing several areas of artistic creation, which will reflect a vision of a choreographic gesture in profound change, in response to the rapid and dramatic transformations of the world in which we live.
This edition will also feature the shortcut movie Rua Vítor Cordon, 20, 1200-484 Lisboa, directed by Alexia Fernandes, winner of the Território | Estúdios Victor Córdon award in the Best Portuguese Director category at InShadow - Lisbon ScreenDance Festival 2024.
