Festival dos Canais 2022 has been announced

Festival dos Canals announced its dates for the 2022 edition. The event will take place in two stages, happening from the 14th to the 17th and from the 22nd to the 24th of July, with dozens of activities spread across the city, gathering music, contemporary circus, theatre, dance, performance, visual arts and family activities, among other examples.
Festival dos Canals is a multidisciplinary arts event held in public space, organized by the Aveiro City Council and Teatro Aveirense, which assumes the city of Aveiro as an open stage, where artists from different geographies interconnect with everyday’s life and the territory to present their creations. It’s a living laboratory for the presentation of new perspectives on the collective memory of this region and its identity traits, revealing simultaneously the state of the art of contemporary artistic creation.
Festival dos Canals is part of Aveiro's candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2027.
