Choreography Creation Lab returns 14th November

After a first edition with seven presentations in July 2021 — with creations by Pedro Rocha, Inês Fernandes, Carolina Damas, Luisa António, Teresa Silva, Dayana G. and Joana Ratola —, the Choreography Creation Laboratory of Aveiro returns in this new season to develop other projects in the field of contemporary dance, resulting from an individual proposal for a creation.
Designed for young creators in dance, the LAB is defined as a space for ongoing research and processes, with monthly sessions. Each session will be accompanied by a choreographer or teacher, in a "coaching" format, in a collaboration to share methodology and artistic thinking and with an open and transversal format for the development of the creative work, based on the proposals of each participant.
Capacity:
Maximum 12 participants, minimum 5 participants
Registration price:
90 euros
Discounts: 20% in the following situations:
- Residents and/or natives of the Aveiro municipality and students from dance schools in the municipality and region of Aveiro.
- 2 or more elements from the same household.
For: students and dance professionals, over 16 years of age
Teachers: Ana Figueira, Daniela Cruz, Elisabeth Lambeck, Joclécio Azevedo, Mafalda Deville and Paula Moreno, among others.
Goals:
- Encourage choreographic creation;
- Promote an appropriate platform for the development of emerging creators in the Aveiro Region;
- Promote the artistic meeting between creators;
- Encourage thought and reflection on the creation itself.
The project includes:
- Participation in fortnightly meetings (with 2 individual coaching sessions in the last month);
- Studio for rehearsal, in accordance with space availability;
- Presentation of the creation at Teatro Aveirense in a show shared with other creators (in April 2022);
- Possibility of participating in the production course for young creators — Instável (“Unstable”) — Choreography Centre
- Possibility of selecting a participant to be integrated in the Palcos Instáveis (“Unstable Stages”) in 2022/2023 and presented in a co-production between Companhia Instável (“Unstable Company”) and Teatro Aveirense. Those selected will receive a production grant of €500.
