Marta Pereira Da Costa presents an unprecedented Portuguese guitar concert

Guitarist Marta Pereira da Costa will present at Teatro Aveirense, on the 27th, an unprecedented concert commissioned specifically for Aveiro 2024 – Portuguese Capital of Culture. The performer and composer, who recently gained worldwide notoriety after playing on Tiny Desk Concerts, of the North American public radio, will take the stage for a show that will feature the Portuguese guitar as its protagonist, in dialogue with the most varied traditional instruments.

Marta Pereira da Costa will address Portuguese musical and instrumental heritage and promises several surprises. The presentation of a song written for Aveiro 2024 with Retimbrar, a Portuguese guitar duet with Mariana Martins and the interpretation of several themes by Daniel Pereira Cristo – some of them unreleased – are just some of the moments of this show, with a cast of 15 artists .

The concert commissioned from the guitarist responds to the theme of the 1st quarter of Aveiro 2024, ‘Culture and Identity’. In addition to this show, Marta Pereira da Costa will perform a concert, for invitations only, at the Aveiro 2024 Protocol Session. This formal presentation event of the Portuguese Capital of Culture will take place on January 26th and will be attended by several state figures .
