Teatro Aveirense shows a Vista Alegre artwork

Teatro Aveirense has on display, for public viewing, the artwork ‘Talha 200’, evoking the 200th anniversary of Vista Alegre and associated with Aveiro Portuguese Capital of Culture 2024. This piece will later be transferred to the future Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art, as part of the Aveiro Municipal Ceramics Collection.
During the Portuguese Capital of Culture, Aveiro City Council established a partnership for the celebrations of Vista Alegre's 200th anniversary. The company decided to create ‘Talha 200’, a two-metre high biscuit piece that symbolises the intersection of tradition and innovation that defines Vista Alegre so well. So far, only two copies have been produced: one is installed in the Largo of the Factory Complex and the other has now been handed over to the Aveiro Municipality and exhibited at Teatro Aveirense.
