Aveirense Theatre hosts presentation of Aveiro 2024 book and video

On 10 June, the date on which the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities is celebrated, a book and a video entitled “Aveiro 2024 Até ao Infinito” will be presented at the Aveirense Theatre at 6pm. With these works, Aveiro City Council offers a review of the Aveiro Portuguese Capital of Culture 2024 project, which provided a unique year in the cultural life of the municipality. The session is free of charge.
The book, with over 400 pages, brings together texts about Aveiro 2024 and images of its main actions, developing topics such as the concept of the programme, the themes in which it was multiplied, institutional partnerships, participation programmes and future paths, among other subjects, in a work that also presents the figures behind such a large-scale operation, unprecedented in Portugal until that date.
The video, meanwhile, is made up of recordings of the most diverse Aveiro 2024 activities, as well as testimonies from some of the main institutional and artistic players involved in the project, promoting reflection on the themes of identity, democracy, sustainability and technology, which formed the backbone of the programme.
The launch of the book and video marked the final chapter of Aveiro Portuguese Capital of Culture 2024, bringing to a close an operation that has transformed this territory for many months and will leave a lasting mark on the entire region.
