One of the most notable directors of her generation at Teatro Aveirense

One of the most notable playwrighters and directors of her generation will be at Teatro Aveirense with a new show. Susanne Kennedy will present ‘Angela (a strange loop)’ on March 20th, as part of the program of Aveiro 2024 – Portuguese Capital of Culture.

For this new creation, Susanne Kennedy worked once again with Markus Selg, a visual artist with whom she has colaborated for almost a decade. Together, they created a show where a woman's life unfolds before the audience, in a place that constantly transforms, alternating between the real and the virtual.

‘Angela (a strange loop)’ is an allusion to the growing online exposure of society and the way in which women represent themselves and are represented in this universe, while at the same time underlining the very nature of theater as a simulation of reality. What it means to be authentic, what are the limits to sharing intimacy, what boundaries to define between the private and the public are some of the questions raised, in a journey that becomes a reflection on the nature of our existence.

The show had its premiere at Kunstenfastivaldesarts (Belgium) and has since been presented at events such as the Festival d’Avignon (France), the Wiener Festwochen (Austria) and the Romaeuropa Festival (Italy), among others.
